Although it has a 30 day warranty, It will cost 50% of the price of the fan to ship back for a replacement. From now on I am going to pay the extra money and buy only Zalman fans. This product is a good idea, poorly executed with worthless Chinese parts and labor. Why would I throw another 50% good money after bad.Fans seem to be the cheapest, first to fail parts in a computer. I don't own any yet, but I bet this is a case where you get what you pay for.Save your money, skip this piece of Chinese crap. I do not overclock, yet the fan failed on its third day in the computer with screeching bearings signaling its coming demise. It was prestinely clean, with no dust etc causing the failure.
It's also the quietest fan in the case. I decided since I had it anyway to give it a try. It also dropped that PC's temperature by a good 10F. It was running so quiet I had to put my hand up to it and feel the air coming out to know it was working.
One of these came with my Antec NSK1380 case. I recently ordered another one so I can have one for my office PC and my HTPC. Since it vents right out the back it's perfect for my HTPC that sits inside my A/V rack. At first I thought it was some kind of gimmick and I decided to not use it.
I've since put it into another case that has a few fans unlike the NSK1380 and it's by far the most powerful fan in the case. With how much air it moves and how quiet it is I highly recommend this product and Antec products in general. I then found things were running hotter than I liked. It dropped my internal temps 20F.
Product can be flipped upside depending on where you want this to go in your case (some cases have open slots at the top, not just PCI slots). Hook this up to a fan controller because you will not want to run this for very long with the amount of noise it makes.Moves a decent amount of air, which is a bit deceptive for its size.
This fan has the Molex older style power connectors. My machine has a raid controller and the battery on it was overheating. The cord from the fan is about 8" long and may not reach your power plugs: you may need a short extension cable. If you have a recent machine with SATA connectors you will need a SATA to Molex adapter which you can buy here on Amazon. Bought this fan to cool a Dell StudioXPS 9000. I bought this fan to cool it down and it worked perfect. The fan is a little bit loose in the slot but nothing to really be concerned about. You can hear the fan a little bit but it's not annoying at all and moves quite a bit of air. If the brackets in your computer are the screw-down type the fan won't be loose at all.
Wonderful for gaming since you don't want any distracting background noise when you are deep in it. This little machine is a beast. You can feel the air being pulled out but the best part is you can't hear it at all.
